About Us

Spinning Tails (of Wool & Dreams) is a home-based business in Hamilton, Ontario. We specialize in knitwear design as well as handmade garments and accessories.

We are a proudly LGBTQ+ run business and supporters of trans rights, IBPoC / BIPoC, AAPI, and the right of all to have safe access to abortion.

Our resident maker, Brooklyn (she/ her), has been knitting since 2017 and crocheting since 2018. She is also an avid reader and lover of all things fantastical.

The name Spinning Tails has a dual meaning. It refers first to our mascot, Freya, a beautiful calico tabby cat (with a long tail that has a personality all its own), and second to Brooklyn's love of books and writing. Brooklyn has been writing and planning stories since she was 11 years old, and to this day she still hopes to publish a novel. But until that day, she'll stick with publishing knitting patterns (for all the knitters out there, follow us on Instagram for test knitting opportunities).

Brooklyn is supported by her wonderful partner, Paul Michael - our tech support, local delivery man, cheerleader, ally, and all around hype man. We love you <3
